Japan-based game developer GameOn has just launched its town-building simulator Picot Town for the Android and iOS platforms.
Originally released in South Korea, this simulation title has players take on the role of a landlord whose sole objective to revitalise the titular Picot Town. As part of your revitalisation effort, you will be able to grow and harvest a variety of crops. Of course, you will have an assortment of construction options open to you, but the sky’s the limit in terms of how you want your town to look.
In addition to the population of villagers, you can add life to your town by bringing in all sorts of animals. If you want a change of pace from town building, you can dispatch adventurers on quests on defeat monsters and dig for treasures. Whatever loot they get will go to your coffers, so there is an incentive to do so if you need an injection of funds to fuel your town building efforts.
As far as city builders go, this looks to be one of the more interesting ones, with the blocky aesthetics appealing to those who enjoy games like Minecraft. If this sounds like your cup of tea, know that the game hit its pre-registration goal, so everyone will be getting a bunch of in-game currency and rare citizens to play with.
