It would seem that Overlord: MASS FOR THE DEAD, the mobile game adaptation of the popular light novel and anime series, will be heading to global audiences at some point! A screenshot of the game’s Google Play Store page was shared on Reddit, appearing to be published by Crunchyroll:
We can probably expect a pre-registration campaign at some point in the future, or maybe even a beta test/soft-launch with what Crunchyroll did with Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Battle. At time of writing, the store page appears to be unavailable.
Take on the role of Momonga, a hardcore player of the online game “Yggdrasil”. The game is shutting down, but he decides to stay on till the very last moment, until he discovers he’s unable to log out. Now trapped in the defunct MMORPG, he takes on a new name in Ainz Ooal Gowns, a skeletal mage, and will now help his guild survive in this dark fantasy world.
The mobile game itself is a turn-based battle game, with options to go auto mode, accelerated mode and multiplayer available. You can get closer to your units in the game, unlocking new stories and information on the characters. The story in the game is an original one, supervised by author Kugane Maruyama.
Will you be playing Overlord: MASS FOR THE DEAD once it goes global?
