Bandai Namco has just launched the global version of Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers for the Android and iOS platforms. This strategy RPG is available in the languages of Chinese, Portuguese, French, Spanish, and of course, English.
The core of the game are its one-on-one command-based battles, where players will pick three characters from a lineup of six warriors to fight. As you would come to expect, each character have their own strengths and weaknesses from five affinity types. Players will be able to use Charge Skills to bolster their Cosmo, which in turn can be used to perform Seventh Sense Art special maneuvers. Being a game of this genre, organisation and understanding of your team will be imperative to progress the game. Brute forcing with strong units is an option but only in the earlier parts of the game where enemies serve as fodder. Later in the game, brainpower will be necessary, so if you like things that get the noggin jogging, this should be your cup of tea.
As per the norm, Saint Seiya Shining Soldiers features a Cosmo Chronicle Episode campaign mode that has four storylines from the Saint Seiya seriously, namely North Europe Asgard, The 12 Gold Palaces, Dark Lord Hades and Sea God Poseidon. In terms of its multiplayer content, there will be friend battles and rank battles for some side distractions.
Author Masami Kurumada first published the original Saint Seiya manga between 1986 and 1990, inspiring various anime and manga projects. Of course, the series has also seen several game adaptations over the years, with this being the very latest. Fans of the series will want to give it a try to see what is on offer here. Of course, bear in mind that this is a gacha title, so the inevitable monetisation mechanics are put in place. More details and download links are available on the main website.
