TRIBE NINE is a new IP project jointly co-produced by Too Kyo Games and Akatsuki Inc. An English announcement of the IP is available on Too Kyo Games’ website, while the TRIBE NINE website is still in Japanese.
The brief story blurb states that it takes place in 23 fictional wards in central Tokyo. Outlaw groups in each ward use “Xtream Baseball”, transforming baseball into a method of battle where they stake their prestige on the line. Further details regarding the project will be announced as work progresses. A teaser movie for the project is also available, to “set the tone” of this project.
Probably one of the most recognizable names attached to the new IP would be Kazutaka Kodaka, whom most people would recognize from the Danganronpa franchise. He is also behind live-action, full motion video game titled Death Come True, which is set for a June 2020 release date.
TRIBE NINE‘s teaser website also has a recruitment drive for various positions, including 3D and 2D artists, client engineers and scenario directors among others. It would certainly imply that there are big plans for this project. Would you hope for it to be another series of games? Whatever it is, we’ll have to wait for more information.
