Super Nintendo World Theme Park Releases Music Video
A Nintendo theme park is no longer just a pipe-dream. (Heh, get it?) Super Nintendo World is a huge upcoming expansion to Universal Studios Japan, costing over $351 million to build.
The first we heard about it was announced in 2015 on Business Insider, and information on the has gradually trickled in. Nintendo has just released a music video featuring Charlie XCX, titled We Are Born to Play, check it out!
The first version of Super Nintendo World will open in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. First announced in 2015, Super Nintendo World is set for completion in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In 2017, Universal Studios Japan held a ceremony in Osaka to mark the beginning of construction.
For now, it seems that the main theme will feature Mario. It also seems that Peach’s castle and Bowser’s castle will be central to the design. Based on the music video and other sources, the theme park should heavily feature digital AR and VR elements. This would allow people to interact with various Mario themed powerups like Fire Flowers. There might also be a mix of traditional media for things like pipes and question mark blocks.
Overall, the Nintendo theme park seems to be very promising and I can’t wait to see it in action!
