Theros: Beyond Death is the 83rd Magic: The Gathering expansion and the 10th set arriving on MTG Arena. It will release worldwide on January 16, 2020.

Theros: Beyond Death will be set on the underworld of the plane of Theros. Theros is a legendary world of gods, heroes and monsters. Interestingly to note, it features a top-down design inspired by Greek mythology. It’s also a continuation from the very popular Theros block released in 2013. The planeswalker Elspeth Tirel makes an appearance as a Returned. You can read more of the story here.

With that being said, Wizards of the Coast are releasing a handful of cards to now be available for preview. From a glance, I can tell that this set is gonna be jam-packed with flavor. You can view the preview cards here. Also, do tell us which colors or cards catch your eye! Personally, I have my eyes on “Ashiok, Nightmare Muse”. Look at this, her abilities are nasty. More importantly, this is one of the new ways to cast cards from exile without a clause (except that the card is face-up). To make things better, this block has a lot of exile effects due to the new Escape mechanic. The Escape mechanic allows you to recast a card by exiling other cards from the graveyard.

Theros: Beyond Death Preorder Bundles

On top of the sweet, sweet previews, WotC also released two preorder bundles. To be precise, they are the Elspeth Play Bundle and the Ashiok Pack Bundle. If you preorder both, you also get a sweet Kunoros pet, which looks to be a three-headed dog. Here’s the promo image for the preorder bundles and bonuses:
