Acer Adds Swift 3 to it’s line of ultrathin notebooks

Acer Malaysia has announced the Acer Swift 3. In contrast to the Acer Swift 5, these models are extremely affordable. They also do not compromising too much in terms of power or usability.

LAS VEGAS (January 6, 2020) Acer today revealed two new Swift 3 models in its popular ultra-portable notebook series, one a 13.5 inch model (SF313-52/G) powered by the latest 10^th Gen Intel^® Core^™ processors and the other a 14 inch model (SF314-42) powered by the latest AMD Ryzen™ 4000 series mobile processors.

The Swift 3 series are ultra-portable notebooks designed to suit the needs of people who work on the go, packing excellent performance and eye-popping graphics into a sleek and stylish metal chassis.

• The latest gen Acer Swift 3 notebooks feature up to 10^thGen Intel^® Core^™ i7-1065G7 (SF313-52/G) and AMD Ryzen^™ 7 4700U processors (SF314-42), weighing in at under 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg)
• The Swift 3 (SF313-52/G) has been co-engineered with Intel as part of Intel’s innovation program codenamed “Project Athena” and verified for advanced mobile performance

AMD or Intel, you choose

One key thing to note as that the two different models have different processors. The AMD and Intel versions of the Swift 3 differ in more ways than their CPUs. Firstly, Acer’s AMD version of the Swift 3 (the SF314-42) boasts a 14-inch screen. Meanwhile the Swift 3 with Intel inside (the SF313-52/G) has a slightly smaller 13.5-inch screen. The two laptops also have slightly different profiles as a result. The Intel version’s 13.5-inch screen is dimensionally smaller but has a higher 3:2 aspect ratio. The laptop body has a taller, squarish shape when closed or opened. The AMD version’s 14-inch screen is dimensionally bigger but has a wider aspect ratio, so the laptop body is rectangular and a little shorter.

Pricing and Availability

The Acer Swift 3 (SF313-52/G) will be available in North America in March, starting at USD 699; in EMEA in January starting at EUR 699; and in China in February, starting at RMB 5,499.

The Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 599; in EMEA in March starting at EUR 599; and in China in March, starting at RMB 4,499.
