INVESTIGATE STYGIAN ZINOGRE

A new special assignment added with the update will lead you to the New World’s most recent discovery: Stygian Zinogre! The assignment will be available after finishing the main story of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. The volcanic region in the Guiding Lands will be unlocked, after which you will need to speak with the Speaker in base.

NEW STYGIAN ZINOGRE GEAR

Naturally, this also means new weapons and armour to craft! These sets have the high levels of Latent Power skill like the Zinogre α+ and Zinogre β+ sets, but will have completely different set of skills.

TUNDRA REGION

The Tundra Region opens in the Guiding Lands! Meet Barioth and Viper Tobi-Kadachi among other monsters. Investigate the region for rare materials!

TEMPERED RUINER NERGIGANTE

Not just that, you’ll be able to encounter the Tempered Ruiner Nergigante. When its health is reduced, powerful prickles will appear on its body. It also has strong recovery abilities, making it a formidable hunt!

Event Quest: “The Survivor” (8AM 13 December 2019 – 7:59AM 10 January 2020 HKT)

Hunters will need MR 24 or higher. In the Hoarfroast Reach locale, your objective will be to hunt a Stygian Zinogre. Obtain materials to forge the Shield-Weaver+ full armour set! Likewise, upgrade to the Adept Stormslinger light bowgun! The Frostclaw α+ Palico full armour set and Forgefire α+ Palico weapon will also be available to craft.

Event Quest: “Firebreak” (8AM 27 December 2019 – 7:59AM 10 January 2020 HKT)

MR 24 or higher is needed to begin this quest. In the Elder’s Recess, hunt a Savage Deviljho. Materials for the Banuk α+ will be obtainable for forging. This armour is modelled after the Banuk tribe’s armour in Horizon Zero Dawn. It has 5 distinct parts, so you can mix and match it with any other armour of your choice!

The previously released Horizon Zero Dawn special collaboration quests will also be live once again, to be available until 7:59AM, 10 January 2020 HKT.

TWO FESTS AT ONCE

Visit the Winter Star Fest in Astera, or an all-new seasonal Holiday Joy Fest in Seliana! Double your celebration by visiting both bases! The fests will be available 8:00AM 20 December 2019 to 7:59AM 6 January 2020 HKT.

The Seliana Gathering Hub has been decorated with an Asian flair. Craft the Oolong α+ armour set with the VIP Gratitude Ticket. The Palico equipment carries the same Asian taste too.

Last but not least, the new item “Snowman” is available to obtain to start a snowball fight with other hunters!

MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EVENT

This event will be coming on 24 January 2020! To celebrate the two years since the release of Monster Hunter: World, two seasonal events will be available at the Gathering Hubs. Join in the Appreciation Fest in Astera, and the Grand Appreciation Fest in Seliana.

Quests will be available for materials to craft unique weapons and armour.
