LEVEL-5 announced Inazuma Eleven SD will be delayed to December 2019. The game was originally due for an October release. The reason seems to be for “quality improvement”, to much chagrin of fans under the announcement tweet.

This isn’t the first time an Inazuma Eleven game from LEVEL-5 has been delayed. Inazuma Eleven Ares, renamed to Inazuma Eleven: Heroes’ Great Road (translated by Perfectly Nintendo) also experienced multiple delays. The game is now set for Spring 2020. This delay is attributed to the shift to in-house development. Heroes’ Great Road was previously partially handled by an external party.
Both Inazuma games involves soccer, of course. Heroes’ Great Road will still be based on the Ares storyline, with an additional “Alpha Episode” featuring past characters from the series. Heroes’ Great Road looks closer to a typical soccer game akin to PES or FIFA. It is intended to be accessible to players new to these games, while retaining challenge. SD is presented in a simpler fashion, with super-deformed characters. Players flick the characters on the screen to pass the ball. The characters will also have their own special abilities.
Hopefully the games will not suffer further delays, for fans to regain their faith.
