Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational 30 July. This will be a large scale esports tournament with the most competitive talent yet for an Apex Legends event. Kraków, Poland will play host to 80 teams of three players each from around the world, fighting through the bracket for a USD$500,000 prize pool.
Todd Sitrin, SVP and GM of the EA Competitive Gaming Division talks of a vision to “make stars out of players” when his division was started. Apex Legends’ Preseason Invitational is the next step for the company’s esports journey, expanding EA’s Competitive Gaming Division. Apex has seen one of the biggest game launches ever, continuing to grow strong thanks to a passionate community.

“Competition is in the DNA of Apex Legends and this competitive event will showcase the game at its highest-level. This Apex Legends Preseason Invitational advances our vision towards a robust competitive experience with the community at the center. We continue to explore all the entertaining ways both players and spectators can experience Apex Legends and look forward to bringing this event to life.”
Teams will be in a double elimination bracket in the winners bracket. There, their performance determines if they continue in winners, or drop into losers. Only 20 teams can get the chance to become champions.
