Penang Esports Festival 2019 will have RM75,000 in total prize money

Penang Esports Festival 2019 is an upcoming gaming and esports event. We at GamerBraves will be media partners of the event, along with our sister sites Wanuxi and Gamer Santai.

Esports (aka electronic sports) is one of the fastest growing markets in Southeast Asia. The Penang Esports Festival 2019’s aim is to turn Penang into an esports hub and promote it as a tourist destination for youths.

The event is being organized by SOZO Pte Ltd, with help from the Penang State Government in the form of PETACH (Penang State EXCO Office for Tourism, Arts, Culture & Heritage) and Penang Global Tourism. Eliphant Pte Ltd, Flash Vision Esport, GameStart Asia and KITAMEN are all event partners as well.

An impressive prize pool of over RM75,000 lies in wait for all those who will be competing at this event. While the list of games is not final, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, TEKKEN 7, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, SOULCALIBUR VI, FIFA 19, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will all be featured.

Famous cosplayers will be appearing at the event, including Hiko (Taiwan), Clarissa Punipun (Indonesia), and YingTze (Malaysia). The event will feature stage talks, business seminars, playable game demos, and more.
