After months of teasing and incomprehensible trailers, we finally have the big news. Earlier today, we found out that the Death Stranding release date is confirmed. Hideo Kojima’s new game will be available on the 8th November 2019.
The new trailer that appeared has longer cinematic and gameplay scenes, giving us a better idea of what the game is like. It seems certain that this will be an open world title, with a lot of crouching that reminded us of Kojima’s famous Metal Gear Solid games.
In the official announcement on PlayStation Blog, Hideo Kojima himself had a message to send to fans who have been waiting for the game.
People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation.
“Death Stranding” is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.
An official product page has appeared on PlayStation, which also provides a synopsis on the game.
