Betop G1 Game Controller – A controller specially designed for HUAWEI Mate 20 X

It is well-known that HUAWEI Mate 20 X is one of the most powerful smartphones in the market. When focussing on the gaming aspect, the phone comes with great features for mobile gaming such as a massive display and superb specifications (you can check out our previous article for details). However, some of you might not know that there is actually a game controller specially designed for the phone. Here we will introduce you the Betop G1 Game Controller, along with a short tutorial on how to use it.

Designed to attach to the left side of your device, Betop G1 Game Controller has a D-pad, a joystick, and two shoulder buttons. The D-pad and shoulder buttons let you set up shortcut buttons easily, the joystick allows you to control your character while you aim or release skills using the original touchscreen controls (on the right side of your display). The design is great that it doesn’t block any part of the massive display on Mate 20 X.

We tried using the controller to play a couple of popular mobile games including PUBG Mobile, King of Glory (王者荣耀) and Black Desert Mobile. Playing PUBG Mobile using the controller is an enjoyable experience, as you can perfectly move, aim and fire weapons all at the same time. You will gain advantages against others as this would be difficult to achieve for those who are using full touchscreen controls.

On the other side, the controller allows you to set up shortcuts in King of Glory. For example, you can open up the minimap or the item shop by pressing the shoulder buttons. You can even set up macros to perform skill combo with just a button using the controller.

For those who are used to the usual game controller, Betop G1 Game Controller with only a few buttons might be not useful enough in RPG games like Black Desert Mobile. But if you are used to touchscreen controls, the game controller is just great for you to gain quick access to some of the most important buttons. Unlike those who use the usual game controller, you don’t need to recognize the complicated controls again.
