Fans would know by now that Rainbow Six Siege‘s newest season, Operation Burnt Horizon, is well underway. Operation Burnt Horizon kicks off Year 4 in style with two new Australian operators and the new map, Outback. Operation Burnt Horizon is now available to play on PC, PS4 and XBox One.
Year 4 Pass owners will get free access to the two new operators first. Everyone else would have to wait until 13th March to purchase the new operators with either in-game Renown or R6 Credits. There is a Discovery Casual game mode that features only the Outback map. If you do not have access to the new operators yet, you can head into the Discovery Casual game mode to learn more about the new map for now.
The two Australian operators are Gridlock and Mozzie. Gridlock is another operator after Nomad to deploy traps as an attacker. The 1 speed 3 armor operator uses her Trax Stingers to stop defender, especially roamers, in their paths. Defenders will have their HPs reduced and movements slowed down when they step on Gridlock’s Trax Stingers.
Mozzie is a 2 speed 2 armor operator who hunts and takes control of attackers’ drones, including Twitch’s Shock Drone. His Pest Launcher can shoot out three pesky drone-hacking droids that pounce on any vulnerable drones within their range. Mozzie can also deploy them as traps in places such as drone holes. When droning, attackers will be able to see a warning sign that signals a nearby Pest.
The playlists will also be getting an upgrade. There is now a newcomer playlist for players under level 50 to learn the basics. As for Ranked, players are now required to be at least level 30 in order to participate. The new season deployment also sees some content improvements and bug fixes.
As for the rest of Year 4, we now roughly know what is about to come, thanks to the Year 4 roadmap. There will be new operators, of course, including one from India. Unfortunately, there will not be any new maps for the rest of Year 4 as Kanal, Kafe and Theme Park undergo their respective reworks.
