RuneScape has always been available for PC platforms only. After a prolonged delay since 2017‘s official announcement, it will finally arrive on mobile for Android and iOS devices soon. However, there is still no official release date yet. The beta is now available for Android users, though only for RuneScape members.
Watch the gameplay on mobile:
RuneScape is a classic MMORPG that has been on PC since 2001. After the soft launch of its compatriot Old School RuneScape on mobile in Canada last year, developer Jagex swiftly moved on to the next step by deploying the Android beta for RuneScape.
RuneScape takes place in the world of Gielinor. It is divided into different kingdoms, regions, and cities. In the game, you will have different types of monsters, resources, quests and magical spells to help you challenge other players. The game is also based on popular novels, Betrayal at Falador and Return to Canifis.
Again, the beta is only available for members who are on Android. As for iOS availability, it will be announced at a later date. Be quick though as there are only 25,000 spots available for the beta on a first come, first served basis.
If you want to play it now, you will have no choice but to pay for the membership subscription. Though, being a member will certainly give you various benefits while playing RuneScape. If you are not willing to pay, you need to wait for a little while until the game’s official launch to play the free version.
Furthermore, there will be cross-platform play once the official launch arrives. That means mobile players will be able to play against players on PC.
Members can now get the game on Google Play. For more details about the beta, you can visit their official website. You can also visit their official Facebook Page for more information.
