Square Enix has recently released their quarterly finance report and received some questions from investors. The publisher behind Kingdom Hearts III has indicated that there will be major plans for this year and the next.
Although they refused to go into details, Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda has asked people to look forward to E3. There is an expectation of extremely high revenue income in the third quarter of the year. However, when asked about why they are expecting such fortune during that period, Matsuda would not answer.
It is difficult to predict about what is going to be that major release as there are currently very few options. One interesting possibility could be an Avengers project. Avengers: Endgame’s release in April makes it two Avengers films in two years and we could expect no Avengers film at all, at least in the next two years. Another option could be a Final Fantasy VII remake.
In the same report, it stated that sales of both Just Cause 4 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider did not meet expectations. Now we know for sure that the big title will have nothing to do with either of those series. As of now, we really do not know for sure.
