Ben Brode, the former producer and designer for Hearthstone, announced that his game studio Second Dinner is looking for people to work on its new project based on a Marvel IP. The studio will be working with China-based publisher NetEase, which you may have heard recently will be responsible for Diablo Immortal.
NetEase was reported to have coughed up USD 30mn for the Marvel IP although which one is unknown at the time of publication. With Spider-Man Unlimited set to shut down on 31 March 2019, the need for a new game would be necessary, but whether or not this new NetEase game will be just that remains to be seen.
In any case, back to Second Dinner, the developer has sought the help of some additional former Blizzard employees, so we can at least be assured in the fact that the new Marvel game will be handled by experienced professionals.
