The development of Final Fantasy VII Remake has seen its fair share of ups and downs. From hyped announcements and awesome trailers to rumors of development hell and possible cancellation. All these combined resulted in a long, yet relatively silent development since its announcement. However, it seems that the silence will come to an end in the near future.
Director Tetsuya Nomura and producer Yoshinori Kitase have recently dropped hints via Hokanko. According to them, more details of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released next year. The producer also added that the development of the game is progressing smoothly. Furthermore, he also mentions that they work hard to meet the expectations of fans.
These hints coincide with an earlier interview between the director and Famitsu. In the interview, he talked about the state of Square Enix and its ongoing projects. Here, director Tetsuya Nomura mentions the misinformation and rumors of Final Fantasy VII Remake and calls them false. Instead, he stated that development has been favorable since E3. This means that hope still exists for the game to get its proper release.
As 2018 slowly draws to a close, expectations continue to grow on possible exciting announcements regarding the game. However, announcements of the game will unlikely come out early next year. At the moment, Square Enix will focus on the launch of the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3 (above) in January next year. We expect that any announcement regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake will come after the launch. Until then, fans will have to wait patiently.
