Action Square has soft launched their latest RPG mobile game, Eternal Rhapsody. At the moment, the game is available in Malaysia and Philippines on Google Play.
Eternal Rhapsody takes a twist of the RPG genre by focusing on strategic management of 3 aspects. The aspects include combat, trading and mining. In addition to combat, players will find themselves in the shoes of miners and merchants.
Unlike some RPGs, the game encourages strategic play from players. They will need to utilize their resources, character abilities and craft equipment to make it far in the game. Players can recruit new companions to join them. Once recruited, the player can decide to specialize the new addition in either combat, trading or mining. Each choice brings its own merits and demerits. With this in mind, the game has that economy simulation feel with the trading and mining aspects.
One thing that stands out in the game is the naval combat. In the trailer, players can challenge a Kraken-like boss with their friends. Naval exploration plays an important part in the game. Here, players can explore to find loot or challenge other players in a naval battle.
Eternal Rhapsody is free to play with optional microtransactions available in the game. Currently, the developers have not announced an official launch date for the game.
