Blizzard has launched Tides of Vengeance, the first World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth content update. The update has gone live in the Americas region while the other regions will have to wait a bit longer.
In Tides of Vengeance, the war between Alliance and Horde has reached a turning point as old heroes step up to reclaim what was stolen. In this update, players will:
- Discover next chapter stories of Tyrande, Saurfang and Vol’jin in new character driven quests.
- Fight for their faction in a new raid, the Battle of Dazar’alor. Available from 22 January 2019 along with Mythic Dungeon and PvP Season 2.
- Battle in a new co-op Warfront, the Battle of Darkshore.
- Defend Kul Tiras and Zandalar from invading Horde and Alliance forces.
- Embark on new expedition quests and more.
In addition, players who pre-ordered Warcraft III: Reforged – Spoils of War Edition will receive an in-game Meat Wagon mount. For more information on Tides of Vengeance, you can head over to the official site or check out the survival guide below.
Overwatch
Winter Wonderland returns to Overwatch for this festive season. Starting from today until January 3, 2019, players can expand their collection of items through 2 classic winter brawls. For this year, Blizzard brought back two fan-favourite arcade maps, Yeti Hunter and Mei’s Snowball Offensive.
In addition, players can unlock new seasonal skins including legendary skins and winter gear for a reduced credit price. Furthermore, Blizzard has released 3 new epic skins for Overwatch which are Gift Wrap Bastion, Festive Reinhardt, and Winter Ashe. Heroes of the Storm
The festive season has brought a slew of updates to Heroes of the Storm. For the festive season, the game will run an exclusive Toys Event. Players can unlock various toy-themed in-game items through a Toys event quest, guided by The Kid. In one of Heroes of the Storm’s most extensive event quests to date, players will embrace their inner child and unwrap tons of items including:
- Cuddlebear Stitches Skin
- Dehakasaurus Rex Skin
- Cosmic Force Valeera Skin
- Cosmic Lion Mount
- Plush Unicorn Mount
- The Kid Announcer
In addition to the Toys event questline, Blizzard has implented hero reworks for Sylvanas and Stitches. The former hero was reworked into more of a teamfighter and rewarded skill plays more. On the other hand, the latter received a rework to make most of the Meat Hook as well as refreshing other skills.
Furthermore, the experience and armor update mentioned during this year’s BlizzCon has gone live as well. The update results in armor no longer stacking, making it more consistent with movement speed buffs and debuffs. The experience system was also refined to make games more competitive and closer than ever.
Lastly, Blizzard added in a new skin for Leoric and a mount to go with it. They have also launched the Cloaken announcer featuring game developer Kevin “Cloaken” Johnson.
