Ubisoft has introduced a special free Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier-themed mission for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands as part of Special Operation 3 yesterday. The two-part crossover event will feature iconic characters from the Ghost Recon franchise such as Scott Mitchell and John Kozack.
Developed by Ubisoft Paris as well as other studios, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is a military shooter playable as a single player game or up to 4 player co-op. Players have total freedom in choosing how they want to accomplish a mission. Furthermore, each player-made decision have consequences on the game’s progress. Featuring a variety of classes and gear to choose from, the game focuses on teamwork and tactical strategy. Exclusive Future Soldier-themed content introduced to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands include two new Ghost War PvP classes and a PvE mission, Operation Silent Spade.
Operation Silent Spade
The special operation features Captain Scott Mitchell calling on Nomad and his comrades to help rookie John Kozack in handling a new threat. Upon completion, players will receive the Optical Camo Backpack and Silent Spade Pack (includes weapon and other customization). In addition, the mission can be played as single player or 4 player co-op.
PvP update
On the other hand, the new Ghost War PvP classes are Vanguard and Sharpshooter. Both classes are inspired by characters from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier. In game, the Vanguard uses sensor grenades to locate hidden enemies. Meanwhile, the Sharpshooter can charge his shots with the Long Range Specialist ability where at full power, allows him to ignore sway and bullet drop. Moreover, the update added in new PvP maps as well, Lithium Mine and Outskirts.
Other bonuses
PC players wanting to share their experience can gain Battle Crate rewards via the PC Friend Referral Program from now until 11 February 2019. The rewards include Spec Ops and Ghost War crates. Invited friends who purchased the game will receive Battle Crate rewards including one Spec Ops and one Ghost War crate.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 Pass owners have seven-day early access on the Special Operation starting now. Non-owners will have to wait until December 18 to play it. Year 2 will continue to expand the Ghost Recon universe with free major Special Operation updates. Each update will feature a unique theme and updates to both PvE and PvP elements.
