BioWare announced a new Dragon Age game during The Game Awards 2018. The announcement came after the latest trailer of BioWare’s upcoming game, Anthem, played for the audience.
As one of BioWare’s flagship titles, the new Dragon Age trailer received massive applause among the audience during the premiere. The last AAA title to launch was Dragon Age: Inquisition way back in 2014. After a long period of hiatus, it seems that BioWare is bringing back the franchise with a much needed sequel to the story.
According to the trailer, the new Dragon Age will focus on the Dread Wolf, a deity worshiped by the elves in the game’s universe. The game’s tagline is “The Dread Wolf Rises”. If you followed the story of Inquisition, the final DLC revealed the true identity of the Dread Wolf. The trailer also played some lines said by Solas, one of the Inquisitor’s companions, from the final DLC of Inquisition.
At the moment, BioWare has not revealed any other details on the game including the release date. However, we can safely assume that it will not launch anytime soon as Anthem is due next year. Despite that, given the popularity of the franchise, fans will be expecting more updates soon from BioWare.
