Last week Capcom announced that they will be porting the Mega Man series from 1 to 6 onto our mobile platforms. They have also announced a specific date for Japan’s release which was 6th January. We didn’t know if they would release it outside of Japan until a USA Capcom employee confirmed in blog stating the details of the game’s release.
So here is an overview of each Mega Man title that will be released:
- Mega Man® Mobile – The evil Dr. Wily must be stopped in this classic action platformer, the original Mega Man!
- Mega Man® 2 Mobile– Dr. Wily resurfaces to threaten the world again! Only Mega Man can stand in his way.
- Mega Man® 3 Mobile – Fight berserk robots on uncharted planets. Mega Man must set a course for space to resolve this mysterious crisis.
- Mega Man® 4 Mobile – A year has passed since Mega Man’s battle in space. A new enemy appears – Dr. Cossack.
- Mega Man® 5 Mobile – Manic robots cause chaos in the city. How is Proto Man involved? Only Mega Man can find out!
- Mega Man® 6 Mobile – The Global Robot Alliance is formed, but this newfound peace is threatened by a new foe – the enigmatic Mr. X!
These games will be optimized for our mobile devices so rest assured that they would seem to be played well just like on a Gameboy. These are classic titles so we’d expect them to be at a cost. Each of the titles are confirmed to cost $1.99 each which we in Malaysia should expect it to be around RM8-9. The game will be released a little later after Japan’s release. So we will be expecting the game to be in our stores in January as well.
They have also opened up a web portal for pre-registration so that you will be notified earlier when the game is released. These games will be a great classic to be ported on the mobile device where we can chill and just play them, showing off to the younger generation what they’ve missed from our early childhood (I’m not that old).
