Rumor – Possible Assassin’s Creed compilation for the Switch

German retailer MediaMarkt has recently listed an Assassin’s Creed compilation for the Nintendo Switch on their website. The page also includes a release date set on 29th March 2019.

According to MediaMarkt, the compilation will not only come out on the Switch but other platforms as well. However, no other information exists including which games will feature on the compilation.

Previously, Ubisoft had released other compilations of the franchise for the consoles and PC. They launched the Heritage Collection for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in November 2013. The compilation included the first 5 games of the main series. Ubisoft later released the Americas Collection the following year which included Assassin’s Creed III, Liberation HD and Black Flag.

In 2016, Ubisoft released The Ezio Collection, featuring Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations. The games had improved graphics and all single player downloadable content. Furthermore, the compilation also included two short films, Assassin’s Creed: Embers and Assassin’s Creed: Lineage. However, the compilation received mixed reviews. Criticisms were mostly directed at the minimal graphical improvements and outdated gameplay.

If proven true, this marks the first step the franchise will take on the Switch. On the other hand, newer Assassin’s Creed games may receive the compilation treatment. However, as no information exist to validate the validity of the listing, we advise viewers to take it with a grain of salt. Until Ubisoft or relevant parties make some clarification, feel free to treat it as false.
