[GSTAR 2018] Our experience in G-Star 2018 – You shouldn’t miss this out if you are a fan of mobile games

With the slogan of “Let Games be Stars”, the G-Star 2018 is a 4-days global game exhibition held in BEXCO, Busan, South Korea from November 15 to 18. This year, over 2800 booths from around 660 companies have participated in the grand event (both BTC and BTB exhibition). We are lucky to be one of the massive counts of audience, and before we talk about our experience in the event, check out our recap video below!

The weather was cold in Busan (around 10°), but it doesn’t stop the fans from queueing up early in the morning to get a ticket to the venue. The event is pretty well-planned, with plenty of entrance/exit, Cafeteria and food trucks around the venue for the convenience of the visitors. The booths are allocated with sufficient space for visitors to walk around, sit down and watch the stage event.

As a major game exhibition, you could see big companies like Nexon, Netmarble, Epic Games (Fortnite), Bluehole (PUBG) and more showcasing their latest games (or demos). Other than PC games, mobile games and VR games, there is a hall that showcases all kinds of interesting indie games too.

Like you may expect, a lot of the crowd spent their time watching the competitions and buying merchandises at the Fortnite and PUBG booth. While the fans of mobile games can enjoy their time trying out the various new game demos. Although there was a long queue for basically every game demos, the average wait times are pretty short as they have provided a lot of devices for hands-on.

The event is in Korea, and of course the main language being used there is Korean. Even though most of the staffs there don’t really understand any language other than Korean (such as English), they are all friendly and are ready to assist you if you need any help. The queue lines are labeled clearly so you won’t feel lost while finding the correct line to queue.

Stage events like PUBG Mobile Street Challenge, Starcraft competitions and cosplay competitions are being held across the 4-days event. Also, there are plenty of famous eSports players (including LoL’s Faker and Wolf) and Twitch streamers making their appearance on the stage. You will see a lot of cosplayers both inside and outside the venue as well.
