Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner is the stand-alone spin-off set in Brave Frontier universe, and introduces some new mechanics. Fans and veterans alike may find this guide to be useful as a refresher, while newbies may want to run through some of our pointers before delving deeper.
Manage those crystals
Whenever you deal damage to an enemy, you will notice that they drop crystals. These crystals essentially power up your units’ Brave abilities. Brave Bursts are damaging abilities which hit all on-screen enemies, whereas Brave Supports provides some form of buffs to your party. There is a cap of 99 crystals for any given stage, so be sure you use them accordingly and not store them for too long, lest they go to waste. While it sounds like a good idea to keep them for the last fight, there is often a little downside to using them early, as some support abilities such as Harvester Mastery boosts the amount of crystals that enemies drop, you will almost never be empty as you traverse the stage.
Dupes are good
As with other similar games, always keep your duplicates, as there are incentives to doing so. In this game, fusing duplicates in turn unlock roles, which in turn open up new skills for that particular unit. Of course, this is not applicable for all units, as certain ones such as the main character have to go through special memory missions, which can be accessed in their profile page. These are unlocked through story progression.
Harvest and Challenge
For every stage cleared in story mode, it will be made available again in the Harvest and Challenge mode. In Harvest mode, enemies will be made stronger but they will also drop better loot. Clearing it in Harvest mode on the other hand, will have the reward gauge filled up for even more rewards. Of course, while you will be able to attempt them at any time, it is advisable to do the same stages a few times in the story mode so you will be able to gain some levels for your party.
Only use orb summons and free summons
Free summons are a great way of building an army of duplicates, so be sure to do it as often as you possibly can. Only use orbs when there is particular 3 or 4-star unit that you really want. Avoid Karma summons at all cost, as it is a necessary resource for evolving units, so hang on to it. Strengthening units are always better than a slim chance at getting slightly decent units.
Walk down the Weapon Parade
As of the time of publication, the game has provided players with a set of special weapons. They are great as starting weapons, but will become obsolete soon. If you need new equipment, head over to the Weapon Parade. It only opens at certain times of the day, and challenging them grants you a shot at earning new weapons.
