[SPOILER] Marvel’s Spider-Man Story Summarized (Part 2)

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 has finally launched on September 7! We did a summary of the upper part of Marvel’s Spider-Man story, have you read it yet? With Mr Negative sent behind bars, we thought the city will finally get its peace now, but it is just the beginning – a bigger crime act is going to invade the city. Peter returns to the lab again, finding out that Dr Otto is testing with 4 mechanical tentacles. It is clear that the neural interface on the tentacles is affecting Dr Otto’s mental state, Peter asked for more testing and Dr Otto agreed. However just after Peter left, Dr Otto immediately get controlled by his rage as he sees Norman Osborn on the news.

Bad news came in, plenty of prisoners managed to escape from the heavy-guarded RAFT prison. Those villains that Spider-Man once defeated – Electro, Vulture, Rhino, Scorpion and Mr Negative team up to form the Sinister Six and beat up Spider-Man. Dr Otto shows up at the end too, revealing that he is the last member of the Sinister Six.

Spider-Man is rescued but at the same time, Dr Otto released the Devil’s Breath on the public area. A city-wide sickness is already happening when Spider-Man is back to the streets, while MJ, Aunt May and Miles got caught in a fire and is then rescued by Spider-Man.

Spider-Man is investigating for more info about the Sinister Six’s plans but falls into a trap set up by Dr Otto. Electro and Vulture show up to fight against Spider-Man and of course, Spider-Man beats them up. As Spider-Man investigates further, Scorpion appears and stung him with some kind of poison that affects his mind.

The antibiotics to cure the sickness is running out in the FEAST (now a refugee centre). Miles sneaks into a shipping yard guarded by Sable for some medical supplies, where he meets Scorpion and Rhino there. After escaping from the area, Miles sees someone getting robbed by the prisoners. He bravely beat up one of the bad guys using the tactics taught by Spider-Man.

Spider-Man also arrives in the shipping yard, then defeats Rhino and Scorpion by locking them up together in a shipment container. MJ went to Osborn’s apartment, finding out that Harry (a best friend of Peter and MJ who was “on a trip across Europe”) is actually sick. Devil’s Breath is originally a cure for Harry’s disease, while Martin Li was a test subject for Devil’s Breath to cure his negative energy. However things went wrong, Martin Li’s parents were killed and Martin Li put all the fault on Norman Osborn. Dr Otto is involved in the project too.

As MJ heard Silver Sable wandering outside, she accidentally breaks a container with an experimental spider in it. MJ successfully made her escape from Osborn’s apartment by leaping off the building and saved by Spider-Man yet again.

After sharing all the information she gets to Peter, Peter starts to put the blame on himself. MJ encourages him, saying that he is not alone anymore. Spider-Man went off to search for the Devil’s Breath antiserum on Norman, but Mr Negative reached Norman earlier and has gotten the antiserum in his hands. Spider-Man battle against Mr Negative again, this time beats him once and for all.

Just as we think the antiserum is safe now, Dr Otto breaks into the scene, grabbing Spider-Man and crushes him. He then brings the antiserum and Norman away. Spider-Man who is terribly injured is sent back to FEAST for treatment. When he recovers, he improves his suit using the materials from Otto’s labs before he goes off for the final fight against Dr Otto.

Although being held captive on the roof of Oscorp Tower, Norman refuses to admit his mistake. Angered by his words, Dr Otto throws him down the roof and as you may expect, Spider-Man came for the rescue again. While battling Dr Otto, it is revealed that he knew Peter is the Spider-Man this whole time. The negotiations between Peter and Dr Otto doesn’t work out, Peter won the battle and left Dr Otto alone for the police.

Back to FEAST, the condition of Aunt May who has been affected by Devil’s Breath is getting worse day by day. Peter wanted to use the antiserum on her, however he is told that the whole sample is needed to produce more doses. There would be not enough for the others if he uses it on Aunt May. He had to make his hardest decision ever, as Aunt May couldn’t wait anymore. Her final words reveal that she knew Peter is the Spider-Man as well.

The antiserum Peter left successfully cures a lot of people, but Aunt May is gone forever. Dr Otto is prisoned in RAFT, but apparently he doesn’t want to give up yet. A few months later, Peter and MJ finally got back together, while Miles tells Peter that he has encountered some strange change on his body. It is then revealed that Miles has the Spider ability too, due to a bite from the spider released by MJ earlier.

In the post-credits scene, Norman walks into the secret lab that MJ found earlier. Harry is actually placed in a container filled with green liquid. He is surrounded by some black tentacles too, probably symbiotes. Does this mean that we will see Venom (and Green Goblin) in the sequel or DLC?
