The Lord of the Rings is one of our all time favorite movies and we’ve seen plenty of games developed around that popular IP. Now a company from China, Leyou Technologies Holdings, who’s also the owner of Digital Extremes, the developer of Warframe, had made an announcement that they secured a deal with Middle-earth Enterprises to develop a new MMORPG based on The Lord of the Rings for the PC and console.

Though Leyou’s subsidiary company, Athlon Games, will be the one developing and publishing the game. Since it is based off J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the game will be set in the world of Middle-Earth during the years which leads to the events of The Lord of the Rings – from The Hobbit maybe? So if you’re hyped about this, maybe it’s time for another The Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit movie marathon!
