As a part of the “New Yakuza Project” series, Yakuza Online was first announced for smartphones and PC back in August 2017. After a year of waiting, the game has finally confirmed to release in Japan this year (2018), while the pre-registration is finally gone live at the official site too.
Yakuza Online is centred on a new protagonist named Ichiban Kasuga, who was just released after serving prison for 17 years. Set in Tokyo’s Kamurocho, the story will continue right after events in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life where you will need to restore the district to its former glory by going against the Tojo clan and the government. Popular characters from the previous Yakuza games will also appear in the new title!
You can sign up the game via its official site and be eligible to receive a bunch of exclusive rewards including a SSR Haruka Sawamura and Diamonds if 100,000 pre-registrations is achieved. Also, there will be a live-stream on YouTube tonight (28 August) for Yakuza Online so stay tuned for more details!
