During the recent Gamescom 2018 held in Koelnmesse, Cologne, Germany, Perfect World Entertainment and Echtra Games had revealed a gameplay trailer of their upcoming game, Torchlight Frontiers! The game was first announced back about two weeks ago with an official announcement trailer but we had no info on how the game would play. Now, thanks to IGN, we’ve got some info on the game.
Below is the gameplay trailer courtesy to IGN:
Torchlight has always been a Diablo-esque game where players crawl through dungeons, take down dungeon bosses and collect the myriad of loots that comes with randomized perks. This time however in Torchlight Frontiers, the game will be different but it is still set in the same universe from Torchlight I and II.
As it still retains its action RPG style, the game will include a shared public space where other players can join, meet and chat like in an MMO (just as expected from my previous claim). Players will be able to party up, fight the spawned monsters and raid dungeons together. So far, there were only two classes revealed during the demo which is The Forge and the Dusk Mage.
The Forge is a steampunk robot with a quad limbs for legs that can wield a sword and a shield. It has the skills of a warrior except with flashier and faster action that shows no fear towards its enemies. The other class which is the Dusk Mage has the power to wield both light and dark magic. The dark magic will unleash chaotic area-of-effect damage upon the enemies. Though, the use of dark magic powers up the light magic, using light magic will also power up the dark magic in return.
Currently, Torchlight Frontiers is slated to be out in 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more info, you can check out their official site, Twitter or their Facebook page.
