Torchlight has been one of the beloved games of fans who loves ARPG like Diablo. Perfect World Entertainment had made an announcement earlier that they are working on a new Torchlight game named Torchlight Frontiers. The game is being worked on by Perfect World Entertainment’s subsidiary studio, Echtra Games, which is headed by former Runic Games and Blizzard North co-founder, Max Schaefer.
With the game being headed by someone who’s formerly from Runic Games, the game will definitely have original elements from the Torchlight series which we all love. As the team is also comprised of experienced developers who were also responsible for various ARPG games including Diablo and Torchlight, we can’t really wait to see what they have in stores for us.
The game is said to be launched for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 somewhere in 2019. Though not much info was revealed except whatever that’s already in the trailer, we don’t know how the gameplay would be. As it is going to be an ARPG as they’ve claimed, we might just be looking at another dungeon crawling game. It is also possible that it could be an MMORPG seeing that it quite fit the description.
If you want more info, the Torchlight Frontiers will be presented in Gamescom and PAX West so you can actually get to play an early demo of the game over there. There’ll also be a meet and greet with the developers from Echtra Games by visiting the Perfect World Entertainment booths. So if you are interested, you can head over to Gamescom in Germany (Hall 8, Booth #B41) from August 21st to 25th and PAX West in Seattle (Booth #1115) from August 31st to September 3rd.
