Activision is working with Tencent for a new Call of Duty mobile game

We reported about a new Call of Duty mobile game in the works by King (developer of Candy Crush) last May, but there is no further news about the CoD mobile game since then. However, let’s leave it alone for now, as we have something else to look forward into – Activision is partnering with Tencent Games for a new Call of Duty mobile game for China!

“We’re working closely with one of Tencent’s top mobile studios, Timi, to develop a fun and original Call of Duty experience that delivers superb gameplay and mechanics to mobile players,” said Rob Kostich, EVP and GM, Call of Duty. “Call of Duty has been the leading first person action experience around the globe for years* and seeing that come to life on the mobile platform has been really exciting. We can’t wait for fans to play.”

According to a statement from Activision’s side, the new CoD mobile game will be an original game and Timi, the studio behind Tencent greatest hit “King of Glory (王者荣耀)” is working on it. Although it is a new original game, it is said to include modes, characters, maps and weapons from the previous titles in the franchise.
