Ever wonder how would the world be if our foods are personified? Well, this won’t happen in real life but in the game world, everything is possible. Elex, the publisher that brought us Clash of Kings will be launching a restaurant sim for mobile titled Food Fantasy, where the characters are named after a variety of food such as Tiramisu, Lobster and Steak.
Called “Food Souls”, the in-game characters have their unique personalities, traits and looks. You will be able to collect the characters, then hire them to complete food orders and keep your customers happy (as we mentioned earlier, the game is basically a restaurant simulator). However, it is also turn-based RPG where you will form a team from your collected “Food Souls” to battle against enemies, the “Fallen Angels”.
Interestingly, certain character combinations such as Steak and Red Wine, Coffee and Milk allow you to activate a “Food Combo” for you to turn the tides of battle too. Not to mention that the Food Souls come with Japanese voiceovers done by a cast of world-renowned Japanese Voice Actors including Miyuki Sawashiro (Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter) and Natsuki Hanae (Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul).
The concept – blending food and turn-based actions together sound new and interesting. I mean like, seriously, who would say NO to “foods” especially when it is looking fine and comes with great voiceovers? I just hope that there won’t be too many P2W elements, otherwise, this will probably be a fun game to play with.
Food Fantasy will launch on 20 July for both Android and iOS, you can pre-register the game now if you are interested. You can also visit their Facebook page for latest updates.
