Despite the mobile version of the Fortnite being available only on iOS for the time being, it still managed to outdo PUBG Mobile by a wide margin when it comes to revenue. Despite the install base advantage which PUBG Mobile has due to being on Android it only saw a spike in revenue due to the “Battle Pass” like “Royale Pass”.
Fortnite on the other hand has the advantage having cross play and allowing players to sync progress across all platforms that aren’t owned by Sony. PUBG Mobile also suffers from being a lot less polished compared to its console and PC counterparts.
PUBG Mobile peaked at 23.3 million downloads during its first weeks whereas Fortnite hit 3.4 million In the first weeks. With regards to geographical revenue, Fortnite made approximately 2/3 of its gross revenue from the US alone while PUBG Mobile sees only 1/3 from the US.
