Right after announcing that it will be terminating the US service for its mobile RPG Terra Battle 2 on 3 September 2018, Mistwalker followed up with another shocker. Terra Battle 2 in Japan will also be shut down on 23 September 2018.
Unlike its previous statement where the company stated that “cannot continue to offer the highest level of quality” to players in North America, a slightly different reason was provided for the shutdown in Japan. Silicon Studio is purportedly reducing its work in the gaming industry, and as such will be hard for it to offer satisfactory service to players in the future.
The game has since been removed from stores, so players will no longer be able to download nor update the game. Sale for Super Energy has already ceased. When the game shuts down, customer service will also not be provided.
Terra Battle 2 is the brainchild of Sakaguchi Hironobu, whom you may recognise as the father of the Final Fantasy franchise. The game is a direct sequel to the first Terra Battle. For additional details, be sure to visit the announcement page.
