Pre-registration for the international version of Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation opens

Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation has launched in Japan earlier this January, and we are now getting much closer to its global release. Following up from the earlier 10 minutes of English gameplay footage, pre-registration for the game is now opened as well, although only for the Android platform for the time being.

To recap, as the protagonist, whose gender can be selected, you have the ability to summon demons using your smartphone via the ‘Devil Downloader’ (Dx) app. As a member of the “Liberators,” a secret organization tasked with protecting the world, you are embroiled in a conflict between Dx2 users.

While it is great to see a Shin Megami Tensei offshoot makes its way to mobile, it should come of as no surprise that the game operates like just about all the gacha game you have ever played. Monster collection and fusion are more or less self-explanatory, while the tower climbing, seasonal events, and PvP duels all point towards more of the same familiar gameplay mechanics featured in every other mobile collection RPG out there. However if you are a fan of the genre and the series, do not hesitate to give it a go.
