To no one’s surprise, the Final Fantasy 7 remake did not make an appearance whatsoever at E3 2018.
Director Tetsuya Nomura has assured that the game is “actually in development” and “not just in the early concept stages.” Nomura claims that his directorial efforts are split 50/50 between Kingdom Hearts 3 and the Final Fantasy 7 remake, hence the lack of updates.
With Kingdom Hearts 3 finally getting a global release date of 29 January 2018, one can only hope that we will be hearing more of the Final Fantasy 7 remake thereafter. Also with the recent string of Final Fantasy games being ported to the PC, there may be a possibility that we could be seeing the remake get the same treatment. In any case, it will be unlikely there will be any further disclosure on the game for the foreseeable future, at least not until TG2 2018, so watch this space for the latest information.
