[E3 2018] Microsoft Ventures Into A Series of Gears of War Games And For Mobile

Gears of War has been a popular franchise since it was first released in 2006. Microsoft Studios has brought the upcoming sequel from 2016’s Gears of War 4 with Gears 5 and we see Marcus Fenix in it as well. However this time, we will be following Kait Diaz, who’s looking for answers from the Locust.

While Microsoft Studios is gearing up for Gears 5, they have also ventured into other genres with the Gears of War IP. During the Microsoft Xbox conference, they have revealed another game from the Gears of War series called, Gears Tactics, which is played strategically alike to XCom. You basically move your characters around corners and behind cover strategically to move forward and defeat enemies. Of course, there will also be boss fights as well.

Now the next one might be a surprise. With Microsoft Studios looking to expand their influence, they are looking at mobile as well. They have announced Gears POP! which is a mobile game in collaboration with Funko, the toy making company. The characters look like Funko Pop, but we don’t know how the game would be yet. Nonetheless, the game will be available for both iOS and Android devices next year.
