Rejoice Pokemon fans! The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have just officially announced two new Pokemon RPGs – Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, both of them will launch for Nintendo Switch on 16 November! Although the new titles are not part of the Pokemon core series, they do share some elements from the core series as well as the mobile game, Pokemon GO.
Inspired by Pokemon Yellow, the new titles will take place in Kanto with the appearance of the original 151 Pokemon. Also, there will be a brand new Pokemon and some Pokemon from the Alola region in the new titles. As the first time in the series, co-op gameplay is featured too, the second player can join you in the fields or during battle anytime. Pokemon will be displayed visibly on the map, so no more random encounters this time.
Capturing Pokemon in Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee (using the Joy Con’s motion controls) resembles the way you capture Pokemon in Pokemon GO. While for those who played Pokemon GO, you can transfer your first generation Pokemon from Pokemon GO to the Nintendo Switch titles via Bluetooth (time to get back to Pokemon GO!)
Other than that, a Poke Ball-shaped controller – the Poke Ball Plus will be released along with the new titles, where you can bring one of your Pokemon around as you go about your daily life in the real world. The device could light up with a variety of colors, vibrates, and play sounds too!
Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will be available for Nintendo Switch on 16 November. For more information, you can visit their official site.
