Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-‘, an early theatrical preview of the upcoming ‘Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX’ anime series, is set to screen in Malaysian cinemas starting February 27, 2025. Following its successful Japanese premiere on January 17, the film will reach Malaysian audiences just before its North American release scheduled for February 28.

The story follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a peaceful life in a space colony. Her life takes an unexpected turn after encountering Nyaan, a war refugee who introduces her to the underground world of Clan Battle, an illegal mobile suit dueling sport. Under the alias “Machu,” Amate pilots the GQuuuuuuX in intense battles. The plot thickens when she encounters Shuji, a mysterious pilot operating an unidentified Gundam that’s being pursued by both space force and police authorities.

GQuuuuuux represents the newest addition to the long-running mecha-anime franchise, which began in 1979 with the original ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’. It follows in the footsteps of The Witch from Mercury which aired from 2022 to 2023, and made history as the first in the series to feature a female protagonist and introduced the Ad Stella timeline. Malaysian fans can experience this latest chapter in the Gundam saga when it opens in local theaters on February 27, 2025.
