Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Receives Holiday Discount, Announces Tournament Plans

Cygames has announced a massive 50% discount for their fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR) across all platforms. Both the Standard Edition, normally priced at $49.99 USD, and the Deluxe Edition at $74.99 USD, are available at half price during the holiday season. PlayStation 5 and PS4 users can grab the deal from December 20, 2024, until January 6, 2025, while Steam users have until January 2, 2025, to take advantage of the offer.

Alongside the  discount, the publisher is also celebrating Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising’s first anniversary with a lineup of special merchandise. Fans can preorder commemorative items, including decorative acrylic stands and desk calendars, through January 14, 2025. Additionally, an official apparel collection featuring T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies with GBVSR characters will launch on Amazon starting January 10, 2025.

Music enthusiasts can look forward to the release of the Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Original Soundtrack on January 29, 2025. The complete collection will include all songs from the game, including the battle theme from the 6th DLC character, and will be available in both physical and digital formats worldwide.

On the competitive front, Cygames has announced two major tournament events. The GBVS Cygames Cup 2025 will take place on January 18-19, 2025, at Osanbashi Hall in Yokohama, Japan. Top three winners will receive special small-size badges for their in-game profile cards. Furthermore, GBVSR has been selected as a main title for EVO Japan 2025, scheduled for May 9-11, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight. The EVO Japan tournament winners will receive exclusive large-size profile card badges.

All these announcements come as part of Cygames’ broader holiday promotion, which includes sales on other titles in their catalog through their Holiday Sale event.
