Unicorn Overlord, the acclaimed tactical RPG from Vanillaware, has taken the gaming world by storm with its rich storytelling and strategic depth. However, despite its success and critical praise, the game’s director, Takafumi Noma, has confirmed that there are no current plans for a PC port, DLCs, or a sequel.
In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Noma addressed fan questions about potential future developments for the game. He made it clear that, at this time, Vanillaware is not looking to release a PC version of Unicorn Overlord. This aligns with the studio’s history of focusing on console releases and their decision to keep the game exclusive to platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
While there has been significant fan interest in additional content or a follow-up title, Noma noted that there are no official plans for DLC or a sequel in the near future.
However, he expressed a hopeful outlook, stating, “I definitely wouldn’t say no if it were up to me. It would be great if we could make this happen sometime down the line.”
Fans of the game remain hopeful that future content might be considered once the team wraps up their current projects. Despite these limitations, Unicorn Overlord has reached a major milestone, surpassing 1 million copies sold as of September 2024. This success reflects the high demand for the game and the warm reception from players.
In the meantime, Unicorn Overlord continues to be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Although there may not be a PC port or immediate DLC, the game’s current offerings remain as rich and engaging as ever.
