Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has officially entered full production after completing its plot. Director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase shared the exciting news during their appearance at G-CON 2024 in Korea. While details about the story remain under wraps, the completion of the plot marks a significant milestone for the highly anticipated third entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.
Kitase revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth introduced a vast world, but Part 3 will allow players to experience it from a new perspective with the iconic Highwind airship. “The third game will have the Highwind (airship), so we need to let people experience the world from a higher perspective,” Kitase explained in a report by 4Gamer. The developers are determined not to simply use the airship as a fast travel system but to offer players the freedom to fly around the map, ensuring it plays a meaningful role in the story.
The second installment of the trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, released earlier this year to critical acclaim, though it fell short of sales expectations. Despite this, Square Enix is fully invested in the third game, which will be an even more expansive experience. Although a release date has not been announced, fans are eagerly awaiting more updates.
As the development continues, Hamaguchi expressed confidence that Part 3 will be one of the greatest video games ever made, promising fans a thrilling conclusion to this epic remake saga.
