Apex Legends’ upcoming season 23 introduces significant changes to its combat medic, Lifeline, alongside new cosmic-themed loot and support class enhancements. Following Revenant’s rework in Season 18, Lifeline becomes the second legend to receive a comprehensive ability overhaul.
Lifeline’s new kit maintains her signature combat revive while adding exciting mobility options. Her updated passive allows her to glide midair by grabbing onto DOC, her medical drone. The developers enhanced Lifeline’s tactical ability, allowing DOC to follow and heal nearby allies, while Lifeline can reassign or recall the drone as needed. Her new ultimate, DOC’s Halo, creates a ring-shaped shield that blocks incoming damage and provides accelerated healing to all players within its radius, though it remains vulnerable to aerial attacks.
Support legends are receiving significant class-wide improvements. The new Heal Expert perk removes movement penalties during healing and doubles the effectiveness of small healing items. The Revive Expert perk speeds up revives by 25% and grants health regeneration to revived allies. Additionally, mobile respawn beacons will now automatically appear in death boxes and at crafting stations when crafting banners.
Individual support legends are also seeing improvements. The developers reduced Gibraltar’s dome shield cooldown to 17 seconds and upgraded his ultimate area and shotgun capabilities. Conduit’s passive now activates near death boxes and respawn points without range limitations, while Newcastle’s shields have been strengthened, with his Mobile Shield becoming indestructible.
Apex Legends Season 23 introduces Rift Relics, a new loot category featuring over 25 unique items obtained from special loot ticks that appear beneath cosmic rifts. Notable among these is the EPG-1, Apex’s first launcher weapon.
Weapon balance changes include the Havoc moving to care package status with Select Fire Beam shot, buffs to the Longbow, L-Star, and Spitfire, improvements to the Sentinel and Rampage charge mechanics, and the Devotion returning to floor loot with baseline improvements. The season also debuts the Raptor’s Claw, a universal melee weapon featuring unique animations for each legend.
