Fender has teamed up with Capcom to unveil an impressive Telecaster guitar inspired by the legendary Rathalos, one of the most iconic creatures from the Monster Hunter franchise, often hailed as the “King of the Skies.” This special edition celebrates the franchise’s 20th anniversary and captures its mythical spirit. Fans can eagerly anticipate its release in March 2025.
The guitar showcases a variety of custom graphics and motifs that reflect the Rathalos theme. Notable features include the prominent Rathalos emblem and its distinctive wing pattern, both found on the 12th fret inlay and the back of the guitar. Additionally, artists painted guild marks throughout the instrument’s body, enhancing its thematic design and enriching the experience for fans of the Monster Hunter franchise.
In terms of specifications, the Rathalos Telecaster features a satin-finished alder body complemented by a Modern C-shaped maple neck. Musicians will appreciate the 22 medium jumbo frets and rosewood fingerboard, ensuring playability and comfort. The guitar also includes vintage locking tuners, a bone nut, and a classic 3-saddle strings-through-body design. Furthermore, custom Monster Hunter Rathalos Humbucking pickups at the neck and a single-coil pickup at the bridge deliver powerful tones ideal for distortion pedals. Priced at $1,999.99, the guitar comes with a black hardshell case adorned with a unique collaboration badge and a certificate of authenticity.
Moreover, Japanese fans can access an exclusive limited edition version of the Telecaster, which showcases Rathalos’ claw marks on the pickguard. This special version will only be available at Fender’s flagship store in Tokyo and their online store, and it features glowing elements, with the body binding and inlays made from luminescent material.
To further commemorate Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary, Fender plans to release a collection of guitar picks inspired by the Rathalos. These picks will feature designs reminiscent of in-game materials such as tails, wings, and scales—items that players earn by defeating the beast.
With its stunning design and special features, this guitar promises to excite both Monster Hunter enthusiasts and guitar collectors alike. For more information, you can visit Fender’s official store page.
