KRAFTON, in partnership with PUBG Studios, has announced their latest venture into the competitive gaming space with Project ARC, a five-versus-five tactical shooter coming to PC via Steam. The game aims to bring a fresh perspective to the tactical shooter genre by implementing a top-down view while maintaining the realistic gunplay that made PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS successful.
Project ARC’s core gameplay revolves around a bomb mission-style objective called the Crypt, where teams alternate between attacking and defending. The attacking team must breach defenses to install a Decrypter at the Crypt location, while defenders work to prevent access through strategic barricade placement and defensive setups.
The game features a diverse arsenal including assault rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and sniper rifles, with fan-favorite weapons from PUBG such as the Mk14, AWM, and P90 making appearances. Players will also have access to various tactical equipment, including Blue Zone grenades, recon drones, and traditional utilities like flashbangs and smoke grenades.
A key innovation in Project ARC is its approach to Close-quarters Battle (CQB), implementing a real-time shared line of sight system between teammates. This mechanic aims to foster immediate, non-verbal cooperation during intense indoor firefights.
The game will feature multiple playable characters, each equipped with their own specialized gadgets and preferred weaponry. Players will be able to utilize unique tools such as grenade launchers and explosive hammers to create new tactical opportunities by breaking through walls and defenses. While no release date has been announced, interested players can find more information about Project ARC on its Steam page.
