Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia has announced a collaboration with Titan Comics to launch a new comic series based on the popular Little Nightmares video game franchise. The first issue of Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere is set to debut in 2025, expanding the eerie universe of the game into the realm of comics.
Lonnie Nadler, known for his work on The Sickness and Cable, as well as his role as showrunner and lead writer for The Sounds of Nightmares podcast, will write the series. Dennis Menheere, a Ringo Award-nominated artist, will provide the artwork, with Damien Worm creating the cover for the first issue.
Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere will comprise four issues, followed by a graphic novel collection. The story will take readers on an investigative journey between two contrasting worlds: the Nowhere, a nightmarish realm filled with frightening inhabitants, and the Counties, which parallels our own world.
Phoebe Hedges, Titan Comics Editor, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “It’s been an incredible journey to distil Little Nightmares into the comic medium; Lonnie and Dennis have packed each panel with depth and deeper meaning, for a twisting mystery that’ll leave you haunted and yearning for the next issue.” While Titan Comics plans to release the comic series in 2025, fans attending New York Comic Con 2024 can get an exclusive early preview at Bandai Namco’s booth #2319.
Following the success of the first game in 2017, the franchise expanded to mobile with Very Little Nightmares and returned to consoles and PC with Little Nightmares II in 2021. Moreover, Bandai Namco has announced Little Nightmares III for 2025, introducing new characters and online co-op gameplay for the first time in the series.
