There were recent reports surrounding the unveiling of a new upcoming gacha project, belonging to a Korean developer by the name GPUN. The project goes by the name Project Terrarium. For your information, it seems that GPUN was recently established by former NCSoft and ShiftUp developers who were involved with notable gacha titles like Destiny Child and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
We were blessed that the developers were keen enough to show the public, a glimpse of what the gameplay entails in a preview video. From the video, it looks like its going to be a third-person shooter (TPS) game. This information has been confirmed by multiple news media outlets in Korean and in English.
According to the article by Gacha Go!, Project Terrarium aims to be a TPS with attractive female characters set in a post-apocalyptic near future, where our characters, a group of female androids called NAU (Neural Android Unit) will face the conquering aliens aboard their mechanical weapons called M.A (Motor Aim).
All of them will have their own characteristics, forcing the player to consider it when choosing what to play with, and the M.A. will have three combat modes: vehicle mode, flight mode and artillery mode, encouraging players to create different strategies depending on the scenario we face.
According to the game’s director Choi Joo-hong, one of several former developers of games such as Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Destiny Child and Aion, the game will be developed using Unity and they hope to launch it globally on PC, mobile and consoles. It is currently in pre-production phase where only a prototype has been developed. Despite their intention for a global release, they wanna focus their efforts in releasing the game in the Korean and Japanese market. Further global plans would have them leave it to the publishers once the western market is analyzed.
In the meantime, all we can do is just patiently wait since the eventual release date for the game is still quite a long way to go and they are actively recruiting more manpower to help make this project into a reality.
