Itagaki Games, established in January 2021 and named after its founder Tomonobu Itagaki, who is known for the renowned Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive games was thought of having been shut down, according to a company dissolution notice published recently in Japan’s government gazette. The notice reads as “Dissolution Notice: [Itagaki Games, LLC] has been dissolved, so if you have any claims against our company, please submit your claims within two months from the day this notice is published.” Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like that the developer is permanently shutting its doors in developing games.
Latest reports are coming out that the company, Itagaki Production Co., Ltd., which Itagaki-san had founded in September 2010, changed its name to Itagaki Games Co., Ltd. in September 2024, and remains in operation. In other words, Itagaki Games is still around, alive and kicking. This piece of confirmation comes courtesy of an article by gamebiz.jp.
We are still yet to hear anything releasing from Itagaki’s studio but with the news of them shutting down being a false alarm, we can breathe out a sigh of relief as we wait in anticipation for what kind of games they have in store for us in the future.
