ATLUS and Studio Zero have announced that a prologue demo for their upcoming RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio is now accessible on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Store, Xbox Series via Microsoft Store, and PC via Steam. The prologue demo offers players an early glimpse into the game’s narrative, social elements, and city exploration.
Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game, scheduled for release on October 11, allowing players to get a head start on their adventure in the United Kingdom of Euchronia.
Key features of the prologue demo include:
- The initial stages of the quest to lift the prince’s curse
- Access to the first four dungeons
- Opportunity to unlock seven of the 40+ available “Archetype” classes
- Introduction to six followers, including party members
Metaphor: ReFantazio is part of ATLUS’ 35th-anniversary celebration, following in the footsteps of their iconic RPG series like Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. The game promises a vast fantasy world for players to explore. The full game will feature a unique combat system called “Fast and Squad,” blending turn-based combat with real-time action elements. Players can strategically approach stronger enemies in turn-based mode, while quickly dispatching weaker foes using hack-and-slash mechanics on the field.
Character customization is a key aspect of the game, with over 40 “Archetype” classes available for party members, including the protagonist. This system allows for flexible party organization and the creation of distinctive team compositions. Metaphor: ReFantazio is set to launch on October 11 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and PC.
